Hippy Trap Festival

FILED IN: Blog

Some might say that the Killeen/Harker Heights area is seriously lacking in the live music department, especially considering the huge surge in the popularity of electronic music, but that is all changing.  No longer will you have to drive to Austin or Dallas (or beyond!) to enjoy the sights and sounds of the region’s hottest DJs mixing top tracks from Europe and the States because there is a brand new scene emerging right here in the heart of Central Texas.

If you haven’t heard of Electric Hippy yet, don’t worry because you will!  This energetic crew has the drive and talent to grow a local music revolution.  The proof is in the images from their most recent show, the Hippy Trap Festival, where our very own mix master, DangerClose (aka DJ Mark S), headlined an incredible show at Whiskey Creek Saloon.  Not only were the lights and sound system outstanding, but we had awesome bartenders who came out to showcase their talents – it was the first time I had ever seen someone shoot a fireball out of their mouth to light up a set of drinks!  Of course, security was top-notch to make sure everyone had fun in a safe environment and PitLickers BBQ provided delicious food to keep our energy up.

Over the next few months, Electric Hippy will be touring Central Texas to bring the heart and soul of electronic music to the region.  If you enjoy music of any genre (hip-hop, top 40, house, dance, rap, etc) you are going to love being part of the growth of the Killeen music scene.  Be sure to visit their website, Facebook page, and Instagram feed to stay informed of upcoming shows and events.  If you haven’t subscribed to our VIP list yet, be sure to sign up and we will send out details in our monthly newsletters!

For information on hiring DangerClose for your next party, wedding, or special event, visit http://CentralTexasTopDJ.com and be sure to ask about our special package pricing when you book DangerClose and La Vie Est Belle Photography together!  Head over to our Contact Page for photography event bookings.

    Greetings!

Understanding Giclee Prints for state-of-the-art home wall decor.

Giclee (zhee-klay) – The French word “giclee” is a feminine word that means a spray of liquid. The word may have been derived from the French verb “gicler” meaning “to squirt”.

Images are developed from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto different substrates including canvas and photo-base paper.

Giclee is a neologism coined in 1991 by printmaker Jack Duganne for fine art digital prints made on inkjet printers. The name originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in a process made-up in the late 1980s but has since come to mean any inkjet print. It is usually used by galleries to describe high quality printing.

Giclee prints are beneficial to artists who do not find it suitable to mass produce their work, but want to reproduce their art as needed.

Numerous examples of giclee prints can be found in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum, the Museum of Modern Art and the Chelsea Galleries. Recent auctions of giclee prints have fetched $10,800 for Annie Leibovitz, $9,600 for Chuck Close, and $22,800 for Wolfgang Tillmans.

    Bye! and Best Regards

Thanks for your informative comment! I believe you are responding to the post about our gallery wall options, and yes, we absolutely do offer giclee prints for those who wish to have their artwork printed on a unique medium format.
